Sick Day..

I sent my youngest son, Paul off to school today knowing that I might get a call from the school nurse later...if you are a parent you know the drill, not sick enough to keep home but you know something isn't quite right. Sure enough the call came about 10 am. Now I as sit here watching him play Playstation, I thought back to my childhood and tried to remember, what did I do to pass the time when I was home from school sick. What did we do in the days before Playstation, X Box and Gamecube. No computer games, no cable tv, no dvds, heck some of us even remeber back to the days of no VCR. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad he has this stuff, because he truly doesn't have any energy to do much else....but what did we do? Read, color, play with legos or lincoln logs or build a model car...that was about it. I'm not sure if the old days were better or not, but it sure made it a lot easier to go back to school when you didn't have a full color animated version of your favorite sports hero that YOU could CONTROL keeping you company at home! Gotta go, time to refill my patient's juice glass.
